Good to know in Senja
- Head for the outer coast Outside its few villages Senja has almost no light pollution. The Scenic Route between Botnhamn and Gryllefjord, with stops such as Tungeneset, Bergsbotn and the beaches, gives the darkest skies; the season runs from late September to April. Source
- Narrow roads, tunnels and no stopping on the verge Senja’s outer roads are narrow, winding and pass through tunnels; stop only at rest areas and marked pull-offs, never on the road, and check Statens vegvesen for closures after storms. Source
